Interactive Station

Estimated to be placed on outdoor recreational parks, this project is an interactive station designed for children and teenagers. The task by "Ontwerpbureau FIX" was to redesign an entertaining educational static playground toy: 'Energy bike', so it would be suitable for a broader target group, 10-14 year old teenagers.

The main principle which this project was based on is that of creating an interactive experience through the interoperability of a mobile device and an outdoor static station; thus creating a playing station where each user implements his own mobile device and plays in a combination of real-life pedaling and steering.

After connecting the phone to the station via Bluetooth, an app the users could download, would provide them with various games that would require them to pedal in order to perform certain actions and movements.

This solution results in creating a virtual-reality-like experience while engaging children and teenagers in physical movement; this being a main target value of the client.
