VACUUM SEALER
 

The project at hand is a re-design of a vacuum sealer adapter for food and beverages and also a valve design for wines for "Verbakel Innovation".

 

The main focus of this project was the adapter, which attaches to the valve, as well as the valve which is connected to the food container. This valve was designed to provide a stable surface for aforementioned adapter.

The result is an adapter that can be used on various valves and containers already in the market. Many adapters on the market need to be bought with their companion containers. The aim would be to solve the problem by having one universal adapter. Furthermore, alongside the adapter, a design of a valve for wine bottles vacuuming was designed. Although this project is initially focused on wine bottles, it can serve as a simple solution for users to vacuum seal also other products.

The designed concept is a bell-shaped adapter. The lower housing has indents at different depths so it can be used on different valves. On food vacuum systems sometimes  it may occur that hot beverages or food might get stuck or leave residue. This is the reason why the hourglass was implemented to block or condensate liquid or steam which then is stored on the bottom ring. In this transparent shell, the user can see when liquid and residue is stuck inside and clean it with ease.
